ROCKVILLE, Md., June 4 — Appfluent Technology, Inc., the pioneer and leader in Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehouse management software, today announced a new partnership with Informatica Corporation (Nasdaq: INFA). Appfluent, now a member of INFORM, the Informatica Partner Program, will begin delivering Appfluent software designed for Informatica PowerCenter and PowerExchange customers – providing unparalleled insight and analysis into enterprise data usage to help organizations reduce the complexity and cost of enterprise data profiling, migration, consolidation and integration.
Appfluent’s software non-disruptively captures and correlates user activity, application data, and database information for detailed usage and workload analysis. Appfluent will partner with Informatica to deliver data usage and performance metadata and analysis for deployments of Informaticas PowerCenter and PowerExchange, providing organizations the ability to:
· Monitor and analyze data usage patterns to augment meta data repositories
· Identify data from fragmented sources that should be consolidated and conversely the data in fragmented sources that should be dropped for lack of usage
· Identify data from fragmented sources that are used differently to highlight possible improper use of this data
· Complement and Enhance PowerCenter’s data lineage and comprehensive impact analysis to include impact on the user’s reporting system
· Monitor and analyze SQL performance loading by understanding impact of PowerCenter loads on a database
· Analyze resource conflicts between loads and user requests and the impact of requests on load jobs
· Monitor and analyze the impact of PowerExchange loads and unloads on both source and target databases.
In addition to joint sales and marketing activities, Appfluent will partner with Informaticas Real-Time Integration Competency Centers initiative. An Integration Competency Center is an infrastructure of people, technology, policies, best practices, and processes – all focused on rapid and cost-effective deployment of data integration projects critical to meeting organizational objectives.
Gartner predicts that by 2010, more than 80 percent of very large companies and 50 percent of large companies will have an Integration Competency Center (ICC) (0.7 probability), “ICC and SOA Governance”, February 3, 2006- Paulo Malinverno, Gartner, Inc.
“By extending Informaticas Metadata Manager with Appfluents insight into who, when and how data is being used, Informatica customers will be able to better manage their Enterprise Data Warehouse and Integration Competency Center environments. We are pleased to welcome Appfluent to the INFORM Partner Program, and look forward to seeing joint customers benefit from this richer operational metadata,” said Girish Pancha, Informatica Executive Vice President and General Manager.
