Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, a business region of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), has received Murata Electronics North America’s Corporate Award for 2007. Murata, a world-leading innovator in electronics and the largest global supplier of ceramic passive components, selected Avnet for the award – from all its North American broadline distributors – based upon Avnet’s continued sales expansion and outstanding contribution to Murata during its 2007 fiscal year.
“This award is representative of how mutually successful supplier-distributor partnerships can be,” said Hideo Sakamoto, President of Murata Electronics North America. “In fiscal 2007, Avnet continued its commitment to marketing the broadest array of electronic components while engaging Murata across all product lines and throughout their entire organization.”
“It’s truly a pleasure to accept this award on behalf of Avnet and its employees for the second consecutive year,” said Tom McCartney, senior vice president of IP&E business development worldwide for Avnet Electronics Marketing. “As a global leader in the design and manufacturing of ceramic-based passive electronic components and modules, Murata continues to offer the products and service our global customers require. We are proud to be a part of helping ensure both Murata’s and our customers’ future success.”
“We are honored to be acknowledged by one of the leading passive manufacturers in the world,” added Pat Wastal, senior vice president of IP&E for Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas. “It is Murata’s technology lead that allows Avnet and our customers to be successful.”
