Nuremberg, January 30th, 2009:

CAN in Automation (CiA) GmbH has scheduled two CANopen seminars in USA for the 22th April 2009 in Detroit and for the 23th April 2009 in Atlanta.

Within the one-day seminars, the CiA trainer explains the basics of the CAN-based higher layer protocol CANopen (EN 50325-4). The events are scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be held in English language. The information provided in the Seminars will enable development engineers and system integrators to judge if CANopen is suitable for their application. Attendees will receive a comprehensive insight into the technical opportunities of the basic and additional protocols (e.g. CANopen Manager, Layer Setting Services, CANopen Safety). Important aspects of system design will be demonstrated. The CiA trainer will also explain the CANopen device and application profiles that enable to manufacture devices with a high degree of “plug-and-play” capability. Furthermore multi-level networking is considered. Well-specified applications such as e.g. CANopen-to-CANopen-routers, TCP/IP-to-CANopen-gateways and CANopen-to-AS-interface-gateways are discussed.

Attendees of the CANopen seminars should be familiar with the basics of the CAN protocol. Further information and online registration is available at www.can-cia.org or via telephone call +49-911-928819-0, or via e-mail to headquarters@can-cia.org.
