Microsoft recently announced the new upcoming version of its operating system targeted to embedded devices: Windows CE 3.0. This upgrade is the most important in the short history of this operating system since it includes kernel features that drastically improve real-time support among other improvements. Windows CE 3.0 is now equipped to attack various industrial application segments, such as test and measurement devices.
