DIGITAL LOGIC based in Luterbach/Switzerland and SYSGO, headquartered in Mainz/Germany, are further strengthening their cooperation, which began in July 2004. In line with its Customer Board Support Programms (CBSP) SYSGO will extend its ELinOS Linux development environment to DIGITAL LOGIC’s whole AMD Geode™ LX800 product family. This extends the already large range of DIGITAL LOGIC boards supported by ELinOS. Up to now, these have included the PC/104-Plus board MSM855, the EBX board MSEBX855, the PC/104 CPU board MSM800SEV, and the embedded MICROSPACE PC MPCV800.
The CBSP does not only include the porting of Linux to the DIGITAL LOGIC-specific hardware, but also the support of all board-specific functions and the long-term integration of the ELinOS platform through regular updates as well as the end users’ support by SYSGO. The integration into ELinOS grant DIGITAL LOGIC customers comfortable access to the development of embedded Linux applications. Especially manufacturers who require Linux solutions for cost-sensitive, high-volume applications will particularly benefit from the convenient interaction between the ELinOS development platform and DIGITAL LOGIC’s computer boards.
ELinOS is an integrated development environment specially designed for programming Linux-based embedded solutions. It covers all phases, from the development of specific drivers to the realization of complete application software. ELinOS offers a complete toolkit for seamless development from driver development to application, supports adequate boot strategies, can be easily handled thanks to graphical tools, and is available for established embedded hardware.
With the release of ELinOS v4.1 Industrial Grade Linux, SYSGO’s application development framework CODEO was added to the standard ELinOS bundle. Thus, ELinOS customers are now able to analyze their Embedded Linux application’s timing behaviour and to take a close look to the Embedded Linux resource information. This includes memory utilization, IRQ behaviour, process tree, available sockets, etc. Furthermore, the user is now able to develop embedded applications with a comprehensive development environment dedicated to embedded developers’ needs. ELinOS v4.1 Industrial Grade Linux includes Kernel 2.6.15 and 2.4.31. ELinOS Industrial Grade Linux explicitly supports the needs of industrial automation customers providing solutions for CAN, CANOpen, VME, IPv4/IPv6, EtherCAT, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi, and many more.
