German Bunde Etzel Pipeline Selects Telvent Automated Control Solution

Project Reflects Telvent’s Role to Help Meet the Challenges of Sustainable Energy in Europe

June 9th, 2010

ROCKVILLE, Md., June 9, 2010 — Telvent (Nasdaq:TLVT), the IT company for a sustainable and secure world, announced today a new contract with Bunde Etzel Pipeline — Gesellschaft mbH & Co. KG (BEP) to deliver a turnkey control system for the company’s newly constructed natural gas transport pipeline. The Telvent control solution will help assure the security, safety, and efficient operation of the new pipeline — key in supporting the growing natural gas market in Europe.

BEP selected Telvent for its industry-leading, pipeline control systems, project expertise and ability to install and deploy the control system within a rigorous timeframe.

Telvent’s comprehensive solution is based on its advanced-technology supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system.

High-technology gas measurement devices will be included to feed pipeline data to the SCADA system and to integrated pipeline modeling applications. A high-speed, redundant fiber optic network delivers real-time pipeline data to operators at main control centers and remote centers located along the pipeline.

The complete information management solution optimizes security and operational efficiency of the new BEP pipeline — connecting gas storage facilities in Germany with the natural gas pipeline network in the Netherlands — and helps assure reliable delivery of natural gas to Western Europe.

“We are very pleased to have been selected by Bunde Etzel Pipeline to install the control system for this important pipeline,” said Ignacio Gonzalez, Telvent’s CEO. “Our leading technology and project capabilities enable BEP to start up this new pipeline on time and operate it in the most efficient manner.”
