Lanner Electronics Inc announced today the EM-9640, a mini-ITX embedded motherboard targeting low power and low noise multimedia applications. Supporting ultra low power AMD Geode NX processors, including the AMD Geode NX1500 @6W and the Geode NX 1750 @ 14W, the EM-9640 delivers guaranteed performance for graphics intense digital signage, thin client and panel PC applications.

“Today’s savvy system design requires more than just a great price/performance ratio,” offered Robert Kuo, Senior Product Manager, Lanner Electronics Inc. “Today’s offering delivers fantastic performance, and when integrated as a full system, draws less than 30Watts of power.”

Based on the SIS741CX/964 chipset, Lanner’s EM-9640 supports dual independent displays with 3D graphics accelerations and onboard MPEG-2 decoder. Onboard 5.1 audio completes the advanced AV features making it ideal for standalone digital signage and multimedia applications.

The EM-9640 supports a range peripherals including a Gigabit networking port, four USB ports, four COM ports, parallel port, IRDA, a Mini-PCI slot and a CF slot to round off the range of add-on options for flexibility to fit the target application.
