Live E-cast Event: January 29, 2009 (2:00p.m. ET/11:00 a.m. PT) Secure Operating Systems and Tools for Next-Generation Software-Defined Radios; special guests from IBM/Telelogic, LynuxWorks, Inc. and Objective Interface Systems to participate in OpenSystems Media’s E-cast

OpenSystems Media (OSM), LLC today announced its upcoming E-cast on Secure Operating Systems and Tools for Next-Generation Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), moderated by Chris Ciufo, Group Editorial Director, Military & Aerospace Group, OpenSystems Media. Although the U.S. DoD did more to popularize the term Software Defined Radio than any other entity, America’s military is only now starting to deploy SDRs. Instead, the civilian world of cellular base stations and fire/police/federal radios is gaining more momentum in SDRs. But civilians do not have to be concerned about the same challenges as the U.S. DoD.

January 29th, 2009

The concern in military SDRs has turned to security in operating systems, in application code, and in the tools used to develop these highly complex digital radio systems. This webcast sponsored by IBM/Telelogic, LynuxWorks, Inc., and Objective Interface Systems will describe the security and information assurance issues facing SDR designers. You will find that mission critical becomes the common theme, because if these radios fail or are compromised, lives may be lost.

Participating companies will be available for a Q&A session immediately following the E-cast.
