Clients benefit from innovative mobile computing solutions and reliable service coverage as Mentor’s technology and wireless communication converge on TELUS’ national network

March 3rd, 2009

CALGARY, AB – March 3, 2009

Mentor Engineering is announcing the certification of their hallmark product, Mentor Ranger®, on the TELUS network. As the second-largest telecommunications carrier in Canada, TELUS provides wired and wireless voice, data and video services across the country.

“Mentor’s new and existing clients will benefit from greater network coverage and more wireless options, as Ranger certification on one of Canada’s largest public data (cellular) networks is complete,” says Mike Koebel, VP of Sales and Business Development at Mentor.

Ranger, a rugged in-vehicle computer, facilitates real-time voice and data communication between drivers and dispatchers, supports work order management functions such as on-the-fly schedule changes, and provides vehicle telemetry and Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) information. Ranger’s integrated navigation software allows drivers to access turn-by-turn directional prompts, and Ranger is programmable over-the-air, saving organizations time and money.

With Ranger as a technological backbone, and TELUS delivering critical wireless network services, Mentor can offer a wide tier of solutions extending from ambulance dispatching, to emergency road assistance, and field service management. More than just a box, Mentor Ranger is a powerful mobile computer that provides the ultimate performance in the vehicle or over the network.
