SBE expands distribution channel for its PyX iSCSI storage transport software

SBE, Inc. — December 6, 2005

SAN RAMON, Calif. – Dec. 6, 2005 – SBE Inc. (NASDAQ:SBEI), a leading provider of high-performance IP-based networking solutions for next-generation storage and communications systems, today announced that it has signed manufacturer's representative agreements with Centaur, Fourfront Sales, and PSI Solutions to promote and sell the PyX iSCSI stack to their client base. By broadening its distribution channel with Centaur, Fourfront, and PSI, SBE extends the reach of its iSCSI software to each firm's well-established customer base, comprised of Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs) as well as large enterprises requiring reliable storage solutions.

"SBE chose to team with Centaur, Fourfront, and PSI for a number of reasons. Each of these firms has established an impressive customer base and a proven track record in storage technology sales within their respective regions," commented Nelson Abal, Vice President of Sales at SBE. "Increasing sales coverage with experienced and well-connected reps allows us to more swiftly and more effectively leverage the momentum that our iSCSI software has already gained in the marketplace. We're confident in the abilities of these firms to identify, pursue, and win storage opportunities, and look forward to their successes in championing our iSCSI solutions."

"Given the strong market demand for iSCSI solutions, we are eager to serve our existing and prospective customers with SBE's feature-rich, field-tested iSCSI software," stated Terry Burnett, President of Centaur Corporation, a technology-focused manufacturer's representative organization serving the Southwest region, including Southern California, Arizona, and New Mexico.

"To meet the constantly evolving needs of the storage and networking industry, we are always seeking leading edge solutions, such as SBE's robust iSCSI software, that can deliver solid performance at affordable price points to our customers," commented Michael Pierce, partner at Fourfront Sales, a Silicon Valley-based firm that specializes in providing experienced front line sales teams for major technology manufacturers.

"As we venture into new opportunities and applications armed with SBE's PyX iSCSI solutions, we are excited to be able to offer our customers a solution that will quickly become a win-win for both organizations," said Greg Gohsman, Vice President of PSI Solutions, a Washington-based firm representing leading manufacturers of storage, embedded, test instrumentation and imaging products.

PyX iSCSI Protocol Stack

The advanced features designed into the architecture of the PyX iSCSI protocol stack enables highly efficient and cost-effective storage transport by optimizing bandwidth usage, enabling unlimited storage to be attached to each target device, and leveraging existing network technologies. The iSCSI technology, fully compliant with the IETF RFC 3270 standard, enables an enterprise-level IP storage platform that transports data to and from networked storage with full error recovery (ERL2), automatic load balancing, and multipath capabilities previously available only in costly Fibre Channel architectures. Because of the ubiquity of IP networks, iSCSI transmits data from any storage (SATA/SAS/SCSI, Fibre Channel/etc.) over LANs, WANs, or the Internet and enables location independent data storage and retrieval.
