Altia DeepScreen Code Generator ported for Renesas R-Car E2

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO. Altia has announced that its DeepScreen Code Generator, which converts Altia Design prototype graphics into deployable graphics code, has been ported to the Renesas R-Car E2, an entry-level integrated cockpit designed for infotainment systems.

Altia DeepScreen for the Renesas R-Car E2 includes custom control of image loading within the human-machine interface (HMI) for faster boot times, support for inverted mode with the Alpha Mask Object that allows graphics to be designed with a “cut-out” effect, as well as performance optimizations for plot and text animations. DeepScreen also provides the underpinning for Altia’s next-generation support of global languages, and runs out-of-the-box on Yocto Linux.

The Renesas R-Car E2 features two dual-core 1.0 GHz ARM Cortex-A7 CPUs providing 32 KB and 512 KB of memory. The E2 is also scalable to the M2 and H2 products in the R-Car series, enabling higher performance with minimal design changes.
