Distrix v4.2 enhances security for IoT and M2M networks
Platform showcased at M2M Evolution Conference Booth 626
LAS VEGAS – M2M Evolution Conference – Distrix has released version 4.2 of its flagship Distrix Network Virtualization Platform, introducing new features that allow network managers to secure Internet of Things (IoT) and Industrial IoT (IIoT) deployments by extending VPN capabilities to any layer of the OSI stack. The extension of security for edge-to-datacenter and edge-to-edge communications also allows legacy devices and protocols to be integrated in a common network infrastructure with newer systems.
“This latest release continues to extend Distrix’ security model to deal with cybersecurity threats from outside and inside enterprise networks by enabling organizations to fully segregate and isolate application traffic,” says Jay Friedman, president, Distrix. “Organizations can easily extend this level of security to manage the addition of IIoT devices to their networks in order to realize the true benefits of M2M communications.”
Version 4.2 also adds flexibility to the Distrix edge-based policy engine, allowing for customization of security and packet processing policies at the edge of networks using an open scripting language. As a result, organizations are able to scale bandwidth, normalize data, and add new levels of application security.
In addition, the latest release of the Distrix Network Virtualization Platform includes enhancements for simplifying network management, including a graphical view of the Distrix overlay network and an expanded set of network operating metrics through a GUI or RESTful API.
