HSA Foundation to share new developments in Heterogeneous Systems Architecture at Linley Processor Conference 2015

The Linley Processor Conference is a two-day event focused on system design issues, featuring technical presentations on embedded processors for communications, IoT, and advanced automotive systems.

SAN JOSE, CA – The HSA (Heterogeneous System Architecture) Foundation announced it will share important new developments that are bringing the industry closer to broad adoption of heterogeneous computing during the Linley Processor Conference 2015. The Linley Processor Conference is a two-day event focused on system design issues, featuring technical presentations on embedded processors for communications, IoT, and advanced automotive systems.

Who:

The HSA (Heterogeneous System Architecture) Foundation, a non-profit consortium of SoC IP vendors, OEMs, academia, SoC vendors, OSVs and ISVs, whose goal is making programming for parallel computing easy and pervasive

What:

The HSA Foundation presentation, “Heterogeneous Systems Architecture: Coming Soon to a Platform Near You” will take place on Tuesday, October 6th at 10:50 a.m. Pacific.

HSA Foundation representatives from companies including AMD, ARM, Imagination Technologies and MediaTek will also be on hand during the conference to discuss new developments. Attendees can also visit the HSA Foundation exhibit during the reception on October 6th to learn more.

When:

Tuesday, Oct. 6th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:10 p.m., followed by a networking reception from 5:10 p.m. to 6:40 p.m. Pacific

Wednesday, Oct. 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Expecting a large crowd; please RSVP soon for the event

WHERE:

Hyatt Regency, Santa Clara, CA, Santa Clara Ballroom, 2nd level

WHY:

ü Learn why HSA will allow developers to efficiently apply hardware resources in today’s complex systems-on-chips (SoCs)

ü Glean more about the activities of the HSA Foundation working groups

ü Discover how devices, with the eventual adoption of heterogeneous computing, will be able to run applications at much higher performance and lower power

About the HSA Foundation

The HSA (Heterogeneous System Architecture) Foundation is a non-profit consortium of SoC IP vendors, OEMs, Academia, SoC vendors, OSVs and ISVs, whose goal is making programming for parallel computing easy and pervasive. HSA members are building a heterogeneous computing ecosystem, rooted in industry standards, which combines scalar processing on the CPU with parallel processing on the GPU, while enabling high bandwidth access to memory and high application performance with low power consumption. HSA defines interfaces for parallel computation using CPU, GPU and other programmable and fixed function devices, while supporting a diverse set of high-level programming languages, and creating the foundation for next-generation, general-purpose computing.
