Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, a business region of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), announces it is now distributing Toshiba’s eMMC Embedded MLC NAND and SLC NAND discrete products to customers in North America.

Toshiba's embedded eMMC storage products incorporate cost-effective, high-density Multi-Level Cell (MLC) NAND technology and an integrated controller to manage the NAND functions, enabling designers to shorten the system development time and speed time to market. With densities ranging from 2GBytes1 – 32GBytes, the eMMC products support a wide range of applications, including mobile phones, GPS systems, electronic books and many other consumer applications.

Toshiba’s Single Level Cell (SLC) discrete memory products, available in densities of 512Mbits2 - 64Gbits3, offer fast read and write times, and support a large number of write and erase cycles. These devices meet a diverse set of design applications for mobile phones, office automation equipment, servers and other applications requiring high levels of read and write speeds and reliability.

“Avnet has proven to be a true partner, and we are pleased to provide our Embedded NAND offering to our valued customers through the distribution channel,” said George Rea, director of channel management at Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc.

“Toshiba is a leader in the NAND product space, and we are honored to offer their wide range of products to support our customers in their consumer electronics and mobile device design applications,” said Ed Smith, president of Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas. “Toshiba’s eMMC products offer many advantages, including reliability, high performance, optimized wear leveling, and block management. This is a terrific design solution for customers looking to reduce development cycles and get their products to market faster.”
