Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, a business region of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), announces the appointment of Chuck Delph as senior vice president of sales, and Alex Iuorio as senior vice president of supplier management, both effective immediately.

Delph, a 20-year industry veteran, has been the South Central area director for Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas since June 2007. In his new role, he will be responsible for broadline sales within the Americas region, as well as the Defense/Aerospace, ElectroAir and LightSpeed business units. Delph joined Avnet in 2001 through the acquisition of Kent Electronics. During his time with Kent and Avnet, he has served in several roles including district manager for Avnet Kent Florida, IP&E regional manager and IP&E area director.

Iuorio, a 29-year industry veteran, will be responsible for all aspects of supplier management for Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, including managing supplier programs and relationships to better meet the changing demands of the marketplace. He most recently served as senior vice president of supplier business development for Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, and he has also held various roles in sales and served as vice president/area director for three different geographic areas. He came to Avnet from software provider Azerity, where he was vice president of strategic business development.

Delph and Iuorio will both report directly to Ed Smith, president of Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas. “The Avnet team is committed to continue making our organization more efficient and easier to do business with. As such, we will continue to evolve our business to match the demands of the marketplace,” said Ed Smith. “I have every confidence in the experience and leadership ability that Chuck and Alex will provide to our team, as well as the value they will help drive to our customers and suppliers alike.”

Delph succeeds Ed Smith, who held the role since 2004. Smith was promoted to Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas president in February.
