CTIA Wireless – NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANNA — March 14, 2005—ENCIRQ Corporation, the leading provider of data management solutions optimized for embedded systems, announced today that the ENCIRQ Data Foundation Framework™ (formerly known as ENCIRQ 2e and 3e) was integral to the development of the Kyocera’s AH-K3001V PHS (Personal Handy Phone System) phone. The AH-K3001V, which became available last May, won the 2004 “Keitai Watch” on-line magazine’s reader’s choice award in Japan. The AH-K3001V leveraged the ENCIRQ Data Foundation technology to create a unique experience for consumers in the Japan phone market. As a result of using the ENCIRQ framework, Kyocera engineers were able to build an optimized internal data management system that enhanced the functionality of the phone and improved system performance while simultaneously shortening the development cycle.
“The Kyocera AIR Edge Phone is a far more cost effective model with high-end features than any other phone in the market today. Bringing it from concept to reality required a combination of sophisticated data management technology and cooperation among our partners,” said Takahisa Yamamoto, General Manger, Wireless Access Division, Kyocera. “The ENCIRQ data management technology was essential to building a compact, highly-efficient, truly innovative phone—ideally suited to the tastes and needs of our customers.”
ENCIRQ provides the first embedded data management framework to truly empower developers to integrate complex, real-world information in order to create new functionality, new business models, and unique customer experiences — all within the challenging constraints of a fiercely competitive marketplace.
“With the AH-K3001V phone, Kyocera has proved that data management technology is key to meeting the demand for consumer oriented products with previously unattainable features and functionality - without compromising existing system resources,” said Mark Vogel, chief executive officer, ENCIRQ. “The data-centric approach exemplifies the level of innovation and time-to market improvements that developers can achieve when the restrictions of traditional embedded system development are removed.”
