Circuit component by HARTING Mitronics AG, Switzerland

Every one and a half years the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE Central Europe) stages its automotive awards. This year, HARTING Mitronics AG was honored with the “Grand Innovation Award (Electrical and Optical Components).“ These awards, referred to simply as the “Plastics Oscars“, acknowledge new developments in the automotive industry that impress with their innovative use of plastics in manufacturing, processing and applications.

The Swiss subsidiary of HARTING KGaA, Espelkamp, won the prize bestowed within the context of the 11. Automotive Award for the development of a mictrotechnology circuit component utilized in the sun sensor in the Mercedes Benz C-Class. The circuit component is part of the on board thermal management and contributes to the lower energy consumption of the air conditioning systems.

With the Grand Innovation Award, an innovation of the HARTING Technology Group has been highlighted once again, impressively showcasing HARTINGs high competence and know-how in the area of miniaturization. At the Hannover Messe 2006, Mitronics had already succeeded in winning the coveted Hermes Award, the worlds most highly endowed technology award.
