Wind River VxWorks adds virtualization to evolve with the Internet of Things
Virtualization Profile adds secure partitioning to VxWorks for IoT applications.
ALAMEDA, CA – Today, Wind River introduced a Virtualization Profile for its VxWorks 7 real-time operating system (RTOS) that will extend the capabilities of the core platform by integrating a Type 1 hypervisor. The OS-agnostic Virtualization Profile will enable VxWorks customers to consolidate multiple workloads on a single processor, and allows combinations of Linux, VxWorks, Windows, and other OSs to share the resources of multicore SoC and processor architectures. Secure partitioning provided by the Virtualization Profile ensures safe and reliable operation in a variety of Internet of Things (IoT) markets.
