One Stop Systems Partners with LeCroy to Bring PCI Express Connectivity to LeCroy’s Breakthrough Oscilloscope

One Stop Systems designed and manufactured a custom PCIe x4 cable adapter coupled with its ExpressNet™ technology that allows the new WavePro 7 Zi oscilloscope to transfer data up to 10 to 20 times faster than any other oscilloscope on the market.

ESCONDIDO, Calif., Sept. 2, 2008 – One Stop Systems, a global provider of industrial-grade computing systems and components, today announced a strategic partnership with LeCroy®, a leading provider of oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers and related test and measurement solutions, to bring high-speed PCI Express (PCIe) connectivity to LeCroy’s WavePro® 7 Zi series oscilloscope. One Stop Systems designed and manufactured a custom PCIe x4 cable adapter coupled with its ExpressNet™ technology that allows the new WavePro 7 Zi oscilloscope to transfer data up to 10 to 20 times faster than any other oscilloscope on the market. The companies’ combined technologies provide design engineers with the most complete debug solution available.

The One Stop Systems cable adapter installs in the internal motherboard in the LeCroy scope the same way the OSS host cable adapter (HIB4) installs in the motherboard of any system. In addition, the board incorporates interface logic that connects to the LeCroy acquisition system. This product package showcases One Stop Systems’ ability to customize its proprietary PCI Express hardware and software technology to fit a multitude of specific customer requirements. In this case, the customer required customization of a board product and its software component. As a result the LeCroy scope can be the extension of another PC or multiple PCs, exchanging data across the PCIe cable.

ExpressNet™ Software

One Stop Systems’ exclusive ExpressNet™ software suite allows direct data transfers as well as TCP/IP transfers between multiple processors. The software drivers initialize memory address translation registers in the non-transparent bridge components that allow data to be transferred from one CPU’s memory to another. With TCP/IP added, the interface is identical to a normal Ethernet port, except much faster. In addition to driver support, ExpressNet software handles hot-swap events and other networking functions.

“One Stop Systems is proud to partner with LeCroy, bringing to market a solution that out performs the competition,” said Steve Cooper, president of One Stop Systems. “By producing a custom product for LeCroy using our HIB4 technology and ExpressNet software, we are able to produce an even greater product to solve electronic design problems for serial data, embedded, automotive and general-purpose applications,” Cooper added.

“The PCI-Express solutions from One Stop Systems are the perfect complement to our new WavePro 7 Zi series Oscilloscopes. They leverage our internal x4 PCI-Express architecture to deliver the fastest data output speeds to our customers”, said Bill Driver, WavePro 7 Zi Product Marketing Manager for LeCroy.
