BROCKTON, MA, August 17, 2006 – Carlo Gavazzi Computing Solutions is pleased to announce the XP-10E Expansion System, its next generation system expansion product that allows users to migrate to a PCI Express (PCIe) system while maintaining existing software and PCI card investments. Now fully RoHS compliant (RoHS-6 2002/95/EC), the XP-10E Expansion System is an out-of-the box solution that gives users greater slot capacity, redundant power supplies, and the flexibility of jumper selectable slot types.
Ideal for military, commercial, server, data acquisition, and recording industry applications, the XP-10E Expansion System offers nine PCI 2.3 compliant slots and one PCIe x4 slot from a single PCIe host system slot. The expansion chassis contains 3 bus segments. Each bus segment can be individually configured from one 133 PCIx slot to three 33/66 mhz PCI slots. This PCIe 1.1 compliant system consists of a host card, a motherboard, and a 4U rack-mount or bench-top chassis. The expansion chassis connects to the host using one PCIe x4 serial cable, and the host system and expansion unit can be placed up to two meters apart.
Featuring an internal 350W ATX power supply and optional dual, redundant 400W or 500W power supplies, the XP-10E Expansion System supports interconnect bandwidths of 10 Gbps full duplex. The host is via x4 PCIe. The expansion system includes one x4 PCIe card slot and one x4 PCIe auxiliary interface.
The XP-10E expansion system also uses three fans at 250 CFM to provide forced air-cooling that is sufficient for 500W power dissipation. The cooling system also features a replaceable intake air filter. The expansion chassis is front accessible for easy fan and filter replacement.
“The XP-10E directly connects PCI to PCIe, giving users the opportunity to implement PCIe technology and expand bus capacity without having to abandon existing software and PCI card investments,” explains Frank Fitzgerald, Director of Engineering at Carlo Gavazzi.
The new RoHS compliant XP-10E Expansion System is priced starting at $2950 and is available in August 2006. For more information, please visit www.gavazzi-computing.com.
