TAT announced as Premiere sponsor of 2007 MEX Design Competition

PMN are pleased to announce The Astonishing Tribe (TAT), whose user interface platform powers more than 90m mobile devices worldwide, as a Premiere sponsor of the MEX Design Competition 2007. The competition is being launched on 2 -3 May, 2007 at the PMN Mobile User Experience (MEX) conference in London, which brings together 100 of the brightest minds in mobile telecoms for two days of debate and new ideas.

May 3rd, 2007

The competition challenges designers, developers and students to unleash their creativity and enhance the mobile user experience. Competitors must submit an interface concept design showing how they would make the mobile experience easier and more compelling for a specific target user group.

The goal of the competition is to focus the mobile industry on putting the customer at the heart of the value chain and designing better mobile products.

Examples might include a new interface for mobile messaging among the partially sighted, an innovative input method for younger subscribers or better ways to discover content and services for media-savvy consumers. However, there are no limitations on the scope of entries, and competitors are encouraged to be as creative as possible in their approach.

The competition submissions will be display in the MEX Gallery, an online showcase of user experience innovation, where the industry can browse, vote and comment.

Marek Pawlowski, Editorial Director at competition organisers PMN, commented: “The MEX Design Competition is a chance for the mobile industry to demonstrate the cutting edge of user experience innovation. We’re delighted to welcome TAT, a company known for its creativity and customer focus, as a Premiere sponsor.”

“TAT is passionate about creating and enabling attractive and innovative user experiences on mobile devices, and we will continue challenge ourselves to drive this market forward,” said Charlotta Falvin, CEO at TAT. “We are therefore thrilled to support the MEX Design Competition and encourage young talents to share their ideas for a better mobile user experience.”

The competition will open for entries in June 2007, with winners announced in Q4 2007.
