Behlman Model 00389 COTS Power Supply still serving the needs of U.S. Navy airborne missions.
More than 350 units provided over 12 years to support anti-submarine and anti-ship surveillance and targeting systems.
Hauppauge, New York, March 25, 2013— Behlman Electronics Inc., known for its leadership in providing military, industrial, and commercial power products for shipboard, airborne, and mobile applications, has received an additional order for a quantity of its Model 00389 COTS Power Supplies for the U.S. Navy’s airborne anti-submarine and anti-ship surveillance and targeting systems.
The current add-on order marks the continuation of a program started more than twelve years ago to ensure that certain U.S. Navy airborne missions had the full support of Behlman Electronics. Today, Behlman’s 00389 Power Supplies are essentially the same as they were a dozen years ago, except for small advancements in technology that have increased performance and provided even greater reliability.
Behlman’s Model 00389 COTS Switch Mode Power Supply is a rugged unit designed and built for military and high-end industrial applications. It is designed to meet the requirements of MIL-STD-704A and RTCA-DO160, as well as MIL-Standards 901; 810C; 167; and 461C/D. Behlman President, Ron Storm, said, “Receiving repeat orders for mission-critical Behlman COTS Power Supplies for more than twelve years is a record we are proud to acknowledge. It is quite a testimony to the expertise of our design and manufacturing engineers that Behlman can produce economical Commercial Off-the-Shelf power supplies; save taxpayers the many millions of dollars required for custom designing, engineering, and manufacturing; and have those power supplies meet stringent military and industrial requirements year after year.”
