Micrium's Latest uC/TCP-IP Driver Expands Company's Internet of Things Offerings
New driver for Qualcomm low power Wi-Fi chip used in Netcom's GT202 module rounds out hardware and software ecosystem to achieve IoT connectivity
WESTON, Fla.--September 17, 2014-- Micrium, the premier RTOS provider for embedded systems and the Internet of Things (IoT), today announced the availability of the first Micrium TCP-IP driver for the QCA4002, a low power Wi-Fi chip and product of Qualcomm Atheros, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated. The new module offers customers an advanced, low-cost Wi-Fi platform that is ready-to-use in a wide variety of products and requires minimal development time and effort.

The Micrium driver for the QCA4002 (GT202 module) runs on hardware with an SPI controller interface. Micrium tested the driver with a Renesas RX63N and with a Freescale Kinetis K70. The Netcom GT202 module, which comes pre-certified and packaged, is available from Arrow Electronics.
The QCA4002 Wi-Fi chip is designed for IoT applications with a combination of performance, cost and functionality. The QCA4002 enables devices to connect reliability to fully realize the potential of the IoT.
