New RTI Monitor Provides Real-Time Visibility into System Performance and Health
Graphical software tool eases integration and management of high-performance distributed applications
SUNNYVALE, CA–January 26, 2011 – Real-Time Innovations (RTI), The Global Leader in DDS, today announced the availability of RTI Monitor, a graphical software tool that provides real-time visibility into systems that use RTI Data Distribution Service. RTI Monitor collects information and analyzes data flows, errors and network traffic so users have better performance and health data on their deployed systems. RTI Monitor functions as a configurable dashboard for quick-read, real-time display of system data.
“RTI Monitor provides insight into the high-volume, high-speed transaction system of our AgileBet sports betting platform,” said William Teo, chief technology officer from Xuenn Limited. “We use the information gathered to fine tune our network, diagnose and debug, and visually understand the layout of our Data Distribution Service system. RTI Monitor is designed for both developers and operators and eases our application integration and testing processes."
RTI Monitor augments RTI Data Distribution Service, the market-leading implementation of the Object Management Group (OMG) Data Distribution Service for Real-Time Systems (DDS) Standard. RTI Monitor displays real-time data in color-coded charts, diagrams, tables and trees. This insight is useful during multiple phases of application development and management, from component integration, debugging and performance tuning to network-usage tracking and traffic analysis.
“Customers are already finding RTI Monitor critical for debugging their systems. They use it to find and fix data-loss issues, measure bandwidth and improve performance,” said Ken Brophy, tools product lead at RTI. “RTI Monitor is proving to be an invaluable tool for getting ‘under the hood’ of an application, understanding its behavior and diagnosing issues.”
RTI Monitor’s window into complex behavior is key for developers, integrators and operators. The tool not only collects detailed statistics on middleware activity—network traffic and errors, component configuration, and system connection state—but also serves as a vital component for tracking and tuning application performance.
About RTI Data Distribution Service
RTI Data Distribution Service provides a data-centric messaging and integration infrastructure for demanding, mission-critical distributed applications. It combines deterministic performance, low latency, high throughput and fault tolerance into a fast, scalable architecture for real-time systems. By decoupling applications, RTI Data Distribution Service significantly reduces long-term software lifecycle costs. Individual subsystems may be modified, added or upgraded without affecting existing software.
RTI Data Distribution Service complies with the Object Management Group (OMG) Data Distribution Service for Real-Time Systems (DDS) specification, the leading standard for real-time application integration. RTI also natively supports the Real-Time Publish-Subscribe (RTPS) wire protocol for peer-to-peer interoperability with other RTPS-compliant DDS implementations. RTI is the world’s leading supplier of DDS-related software and services.
Real-Time Innovations (RTI) is the world's leading provider of middleware compliant with the Object Management Group (OMG) Data-Distribution Service for Real-Time Systems (DDS) standard. With over 70 percent market share, more than 400 unique projects take advantage of RTI's software and expertise to slash the time and cost of systems integration. These span a broad range of industries including aerospace, defense, finance, intelligence, power generation and transportation. Founded in 1991, RTI is privately held and headquartered in Sunnyvale, CA. For more information, please visit www.rti.com.
