Tianma Microelectronics Introduces 1.3-inch Circular Wearable Display With On-Cell PCAP Touch Technology

Santa Clara, CA – Leading LCD supplier Tianma Microelectronics USA has introduced a 1.3-inch circular wearable A-Si TFT LCD with On-Cell projected capacitive (PCAP) touch panel technology. It can be used in wearable display applications, such as smart watches, as well as in automobile instrumentation, such as a joystick or scrolling button.

The new LCD is a full circular display with a narrow frame. It utilizes single layer circular On-Cell PCAP touch panel technology for a slim design with super fine TFT (SFT1) display mode for wide viewing angles. The display features a resolution of 276 x 240 with low power consumption and is ideal for wearable displays where a circular design is preferred to mimic traditional watches.

A prototype of the new circular LCD will be on display at Display Week 2015 at the McHenry Convention Center in San Jose, California, June 2-4, in Tianma’s Booth 719.

When these displays go to production, they will be available for OEM sales through Tianma Microelectronics USA and through Tianma NLT America’s distribution sales channel.
